Hello there!
My name is Rachel and I’m so exciting to hopefully meet you all! A little about me: I’m a mom of three younglings and we have lived in Ahwatukee for about three years now. I work for a law firm and have always been interested in cosplay but never made the time. This is the year!
After going down the rabbit hole of Star Wars Legends books, I’ve decided that my life won’t be complete without a whole Mara Jade costume. Any tips for completing her are welcome! I’m particularly frustrated by the knee/shin guards already, and I’ve only just begun.
I love the idea of using cosplay for a good cause, and really hope to be active with charity work if and when I get approved! I don’t have much of a circle here in AZ yet, and really look forward to doing good with “my people”

The detachments are the "experts" on the costumes under their umbrella so I would also invite you to reach out to the Flagship Eclipse Detachment here: https://www.theflagshipeclipse.com/ They can help you source the materials and give you advise as to how best to build your costume. As Peter mentioned the detachments have a wealth of information and are a great source for finding what does and doesn't work that is specific to each costume they represent. I look forward to meeting you in the future and best of luck finishing your kit without too many roadblocks. Once you get going though it goes faster and faster.
