Got the bug to get back into the action, and I've been cobbling together a new Scout since about November.
Patience is the key to the game, though, and I've made a few mistakes. My intention was to 3D print the armor on my little Creality Ender3 Pro. This required cutting the larger pieces down in the slicer and then assembling them. This added a lot of work over just buying a new fan-made kit, but I wanted to see if I could pull it off, and possibly even finish it well enough to be the first 3D printed Lancer.
Alas, some of the parts just weren't working out right and I ended up gathering together some SC pieces to complete the build.
Here's my list of components:
Helmet: 3D Print from Jesus Salmeron's files
Chest/Back/Belt: SC
Shoulders/Biceps/Forearms/Knees/Thermal Detonator: 3D Printed from MrPoopie's files
Flight Suit: DIY from RedKap coveralls and real suede from Tandy Leather
Vest: CucBlack
Cummerbund/Cod: DIY
Boots: DIY with Crowprops replica Sierra sole boot bases
Gloves: Wampawear
Balaclaba: UnderArmor
Blaster: 3D Printed from Mr Poopie's files
I hurriedly finished it up hoping to get reinstated before the Membership DB got locked for elections, and did a photoshoot. My daughter helped me dress out and we took a million pics. Unfortunately, I wasn't happy with some of the fit and the paint job on the helmet. I'm holding off submitting the shots until after elections (and a new paint job/soft goods alterations), but here's an action shot I took to show my progress (or lack thereof):
