Hi!
I've been waiting a while awhile now to get my hands on some armor or a kit and can finally now afford one. Now comes the difficult task of finding a source, i've read this post: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/ ... find-them/ but I'm unsure how to best determine which source is best for me. Price isn't really an issue for the most part, my main concern is actually getting the armor to fit me properly. I'm 5'5" and chubby (somewhere between 210 to 240 lbs? I don't have a scale unfortunately). I'm unsure if certain sources provide armors that are easier to shape to my size or if that doesn't matter.
My other obstacle is the building part, I have no tools other than simple hammers and screwdrivers and have no experience with power tools, I'm also in an apartment with little space to build anything. So I don't know if its just better to buy a suit that's already trimmed, running the risk of it not fitting me properly. I could take the easy route and just buy a suit/kit from Anovos but I've heard from members in person that their armor isn't passable without some extra modifications, so I guess its best to avoid that?
Any tips would be appreciated!

Well Greg,
There are options for you, most involve you buying the kit and cutting and trimming the armor yourself, to fit you. It will be best to find someone whom you can learn from and work with to get your armor fit just for you. There are a lot of companies out there that can sell it to you and 850 armor works is the first to come to mind.

Contact them for pricing and availability, be sure to give them your general sizes.
As for ready made kits, or already made armor, that really is a myth. Not all of us fit into a one size fits all category, so you will need to make it fit you. I wouldn't spend a ton of money on some armor kit that you might have to modify a lot.

The detachment is a great place to learn. Hang about FISD and review members build threads regarding what kit they got and how they are building it. Most kits require some trimming and sanding and you won’t need any power tools just a pair of lexan scissors, glue and some sandpaper. You can also reach out to Mike Culp (TK1636) he is one of our GMLs and resident TK expert. He’s built quite a few sets and I’m sure he would be happy to help you as well. Keep reading, researching and posting up those questions we’re here to help when you need.
